Many black people today use the N word when conversing among themselves, it seems. It's a dichotomy that it is forbidden in the context of what the black athlete faced or suffered under the awful scrutiny of prejudice in old times, though among the African race today it's just playful banter when one of their own spins it by speaking it. If such a word brought so much pain as a distasteful reminder of a segregated society, then it shouldn't be spoken. Otherwise, it's difficult to get on the "sympathy train."

Reggie is telling the truth. There is racism in sports and in the workplace. I work at a job temporary for three months and the supervisot would get my chair first thing inthe morning. Although, he had his own desk and chair. He would get my chair to read thenewspaper to make me wait to sit in my chair. I told myself not to act a fool with this bigot by stepping down to his level. He is a bigot because ask me everyday is that his water bottle or mine. The supervisor is a redneck pos. I got a better job to get away from that punk.

LOL. The event was billed as Tribute to the negro league. Tribute? Racism (and an apathy to racism) was the only reason the Negro league existed. Conservatives and MAGA want to rewrite history and villainize black live matter, critical race theory, and wokeness. The did it with the civil war., but those movements are about truth, honesty and civil rights due to all.

The "N" word is the most disgusting word on the planet and the way Reggie uses it shows exactly how it was used in the past. This is one of baseball's GREATEST stories and it is so nice that it is no censored. The way Reggie tells the story you can feel exactly how he did. Amazing it took so long to hear this story. The same exact thing happened to Jackie Robinson , he had to sleep on the player's bus and use the bathroom at the Gas Station ⛽️ after Jackie Robinson served the military 🪖 he had to sit on the back of the bus, that's why he never came out of the Dugout for the National Anthem 🇺🇸

I just don't think enough people today appreciate how awful his experience was, as an elite athlete. I know I didn't and can't really know what it was like, but when he recounted this experience it's like the memory was so deep and hurtful it took him back to the time it was happening. Thank you Reggie for your ability to sit and recount what happened, and remind me of exactly how terrible (and good) humans can be.
